  • Overview

    Facilitate all domestic recruiting efforts, application processing, and candidate selection for most hourly positions.  Oversee two staffing clerks in the processing of candidates via the applicant tracking system.


    • Manage all domestic recruiting efforts and candidate selection for front-line hourly positions and other positions as assigned. Post requisitions, advertise as needed, screen candidates, oversee reference check process, conduct and oversee interviews, extend job offers and declines.  Ensure adequate job offers are issued to meet hiring needs.
    • Ensure a professional, legally compliant and consistent selection and onboarding experience for applicants. Consistently apply established criteria in the candidate evaluation process.
    • Oversee the work of two staffing clerks in the processing of applications via our applicant tracking system, iCIMS. Conduct selection, training, performance management and coaching with staffing clerks as needed.
    • Oversee the processing of all incoming and outgoing transfers between Xanterra properties according to company standards.
    • Respond directly to reference requests by other Xanterra properties regarding former South Rim employees.
    • Collaborate and communicate with A Christian Ministry in the National Parks representative in the processing of ACMNP referred candidates.
    • Create and publish job advertisements with approval from the Talent Manager.
    • Complete monthly staffing report for the HR Director according to schedule.
    • With approval and guidance from the Talent Manager, research domestic recruiting locations and job fair opportunities to maximize recruiting efforts and budget. Coordinate with relevant contacts and advertise as needed.
    • May participate in overnight recruiting activities and travel.
    • Prepare and facilitate recruiting presentations at select events, utilizing available resources.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • Experience in recruiting, or management experience in hospitality operations or Human Resources.
    • Experience with iCIMS or other applicant tracking software is desirable.
    • Knowledge of the duties and qualifications of the hourly positions in the hospitality/resort industry.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include experience in training and/or public speaking.
    • Ability to confront difficult conversations with candor and respect.
    • Outgoing personality and engaging behavioral traits.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to sell employment opportunities with Xanterra South Rim.
    • Excellent judgment, decision making and discretionary skills in selecting applicants for positions of employment.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a high-volume workload.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet and social media sites.
    • Willingness and ability to do solo business travel to conduct in-person recruiting.
    • Possess valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the company Driver Safety Program.
