    This position supports Glacier National Park Lodges' location based Maintenance Managers with all facility maintenance requirements.


    This is a Full-Time, Year-Round position with an 8 week furough period. Position starts October 1, 2018.


    1. Lead the implementation of the company facility rodent exclusion plan
    2. Assists Director with creating the yearly Facility Maintenance Plans
    3. Accountable for proper and accurate documentation, of all work performed parkwide, in the computerized maintenance management system in accordance with established Company procedures and contractual requirements.
    4. Acts as a company representative and professional liaison with vendors, outside service contractors and consultants, the National Park Services and other Xanterra departments as needed.
    5. Responsible for ensuring all required departmental safety training and safety tailgate meetings are scheduled and attended as required, and properly document all training.
    6. Responsible for implementation, maintenance and continuous development of a safe and healthy work environment per OSHA regulations and Company policy.
    7. Responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing the workload, materials procurement and equipment for facility maintenance of all assigned projects and tasks.
    8. Responsible for coordination of Tasks with all Engineering department heads, affected Department’s Director, parkwide trade personnel, location management, location maintenance managers, and the National Park Service.
    9. Assigns project and task responsibilities to the appropriate department personnel.
    10. Assists with the proper management, handling and disposal of hazardous/ universal and construction waste including source reduction and management of generated wastes.
    11. Works in conjunction with Xanterra’s sustainability department to ensure compliance of Xanterra’s Ecologix program and that all environmental goals are achieved.
    12. Performs other duties as assigned.




    1. Facilities Maintenance experience required
    2. 5 to 7 years managerial and supervisory level experience preferred
    3. Knowledge of OSHA (General Industry (1910) and Construction (1926)) safety and health standards in cooperation with Xanterra policies, procedures and programs.
    4. Knowledge of and/or ability to read, understand, interpret and comply with Xanterra, National Park Service, Federal and State requirements, policies and procedures.
    5. Knowledge of historic structures and materials including historic preservation maintenance techniques and methods.
    6. Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) technologies.
    7. Possess the administrative and technical knowledge to effectively manage related responsibilities and staff including strong organization skills and be knowledgeable of applicable codes as they relate to planning and scheduling of construction projects.
    8. Ability to efficiently schedule tasks to ensure timely arrival of materials, equipment and labor.
    9. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, with limited supervision and must be available to work on nights, weekends and holidays when required.
    10. Proficient in supervising personnel in accordance with Xanterra’s policies and procedures. Ability to mentor and develop personnel and ensure staff attends all training as required.
    11. Working knowledge of hospitality related construction and maintenance operations, equipment and facilities.
    12. Knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for the Treatment of Cultural Landscapes and the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation & Illustrated Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Building and how they apply to work in Glacier National Park.
    13. Ability to efficiently communicate and coordinate working relationships with all Xanterra’s departments and National Park Service personnel through effective writing and speaking skills.
    14. Experience in energy efficiency and facility project prioritization including energy auditing, lighting technology, mechanical system efficiency, etc.
    15. Proficiency with all Microsoft products and programs as well as database programs and project tracking software.
    16. General knowledge of procurement and general accounting practices.
    17. Ability to read and interpret as-constructed drawings, operating and maintenance manuals and any other submitted documentation.
    18. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a good driving record for the past 3 years.


    1. This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable OSHA regulations such as a clean-shaven face and a medical screening.
    2. Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical.
    3. Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    4. Must possess physical stamina to withstand heavy labor-related work in an outside environment.
    5. Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
    6. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods of time as required.


    1. Responsible for ordering materials and equipment to support assigned tasks.
    2. Assists with oversight of all location maintenance departments as needed.
    3. Able to suspend work in accordance with OSHA Regulations.
    4. Coordinates project activities with various Xanterra departments and the National Park Service.
    5. Approves budget expenditures for maintenance activities as dictated by departmental director.
