  • Overview

    Applicants applying for a Safety and Security position will be considered for one of the positions below. Applicants are assigned a position based on their level of experience. Please list relevant work experience on your application

     

    Dates: Our summer season begins in early April-May and ends in early September-October with a few positions extending into mid-October and early November. Applicants are encouraged to apply to work a full season or no less than 3 months. Our winter season begins in early December and ends in March. The winter positions are typically assigned to those with previous Yellowstone/Security experience.

     

    Safety and Security Guard

    Safety and Security Guards patrol buildings and grounds to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions such as fires, theft, vandalism, etc. The guards are constantly on the move, and throughout the day they respond to a variety of issues that range from minor events to major emergencies.

     

    Safety and Security Guard II

    Same duties as the Safety and Security Guard, with the additional responsibility of actively participating as a volunteer firefighter on the National Park Service Structural Fire Department.

     

    Location Safety and Security Lead

    In addition to fulfilling the duties of a Safety and Security Guard, the Lead also assists in training and evaluating guards, creating schedules, following up on issues noted in daily security logs and incident reports, coordinating monthly safety inspections, and more.

     

    Location Safety and Security Lead II

    Same duties as the Location Safety and Security Lead, with the additional responsibility of actively participating as a volunteer firefighter on the National Park Service Structural Fire Department.

     

     

    Area Safety and Security Manager 

    The Area Safety and Security Manager oversees the security operation for multiple locations within the park. The manager ensures the Security Leads are trained appropriately, ensures the Leads are performing their duties effectively and efficiently, ensures that location security operations are running smoothly and any issues identified are resolved quickly, monitors department labor and budgets, performs breath alcohol technician and a screen test technician duties in accordance with the company Substance Abuse Policy for employees, trains Heartsaver First Aid and CPR to Xanterra personnel, and much more.

     

    Area Safety and Security Manager II 

    Same duties as the Area Safety and Security Manager
