Overview

 

Yellowstone National Park employees not only work hard, they play hard, too. With over 2 million acres of land to explore, beautiful animals and half of the world’s thermal features you’ll never run out of exciting sights to discover! Our summer season positions typically run from mid-April through late October.

 

Yellowstone National Park Lodges operates 9 comfortable lodging facilities offering over 2,000 guest rooms spread out over its 6 locations. Guest accommodations include both cabins and hotel-style rooms that range from rustic to modern. Our company strives to keep our guests completely engaged in their Yellowstone experience. With this in mind, we do not offer TVs, wireless internet or radios in our guest rooms.

 

Candidates interested in front desk positions in Yellowstone are drawn to the unique opportunity to work in the world’s first national park and should be enthusiastic about Xanterra’s sustainability initiatives and mission to provide ‘legendary hospitality with a softer footprint’. Our front desk employees are not only highly knowledgeable of the layout and operations at their own location, but also possess a vast knowledge of the park and its surrounding areas and are eager to make recommendations to our guests.

 

Candidates applying for the front desk will be considered for one of the following positions:

  • Guest Service Agent
    • Guest Service Agent staff offer up the first impression and best service to guests staying in our hotels and lodges. The ability to provide friendly, knowledgeable and caring help is the most important aspect of this job. 
  • Night Guest Service Agent
    • Night Guest Service Agent is the "overnight" front desk worker in the hotel. When on duty, this position is responsible for checking in guests along with the completion of Night GSA duties for each shift. 
  • Tour Guest Agent
    • The Tour Guest Agent works with arriving tour group leaders to ensure rooming lists, charges, dinner coupons and other activities have been booked correctly. 
  • Front Office Management
    • Our Front Office Managers provide leadership to the Front Desk staff, scheduling, budget control, and excellent standards of guest service.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • To provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Human relations skills. Must be a "people-person" who thrives on public contact.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • General/Basic computer skills.
  • Sales skills.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instruction accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and move through them in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to interact with diverse peoples and help resolve any issues.
  • Ability to work quickly and thoroughly under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
