Overview

 This seasonal position typically begins in April and runs through October

 

 

  • A Bell Porter has direct contact with guests and provides several services, including the transportation of luggage to and from rooms, providing information about the location and providing shuttle service if necessary. At Lake Hotel will also be covering valet shifts which require in addition to the above the parking and retrieval of the guest’s vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • To perform all job duties toward the goal of ensuring the best possible guest service.
  • Follow all policy, procedures and service standards.
  • To greet guests and tour directors in a friendly manner, and to provide luggage service and accurate information to all guests.
  • To greet guests in a friendly manner, and provide valet service options to all guests at Lake Yellowstone Hotel.
  • To become familiar with and perform emergency fire evacuation and safety procedures.
  • To assist in maintaining the cleanliness of public areas.
  • To assist other departments (including Housekeeping) as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be a people person who thrives on public contact.
  • Knowledge of the assigned lodging facility and area.
  • Knowledge of Yellowstone Park, services, and attractions.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling guest luggage up to 100 lbs, and/or up to 500 lbs on wheeled carts, for up to 6 hours per shift.
  • Extensive stretching, bending, kneeling, walking, climbing up and down stairs.  Could total up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Standing for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • At Lake Hotel must be 21 years old, to operate vehicles.
  • At Lake Hotel must be able to drive different types of vehicles {sizes, manual, automatic}.
  • Working in various weather conditions.
  • Working with required chemicals and equipment.
