    We are actively seeking candidates for our Summer 2018 Team who are looking to take a break from the daily grind and step into the peaceful environment of one of the world's oldest national parks.


    Our operation features 2 separate areas within the Park - Rim Village and Mazama Village. We have 3 dining facilities, 3 retail outlets, a campground, cabins, and lodge. We also offer daily boat tours for our guests.


    Southern Oregon offers diverse recreational opportunities for your days off - we have deserts, rainforests, mountains, marshes, and the Pacific Ocean is only a few hours away. Of course, the gem of the entire region is Crater Lake!



    Summary: This position serves as both a Host and Server Assistant at the Mazama Village Annie Creek Restaurant. The Host sets a positive, professional, and inviting tone for guests at Crater Lake Lodge Dining Room and Annie Creek Restaurant; greets, welcomes, and engages all guests with warmth and enthusiasm.The Server Assistant assists the Server in providing excellent service to ensure guests have a positive and relaxing dining experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    -Performs all duties with the ultimate goal of providing exemplary guest service.

    -Monitors entire restaurant to ensure efficiency at all times.

    -Constantly assesses restaurant to see which tables are clean and ready for the next guest.

    -Greets and engages guests in a professional and friendly manner.

    -Ensures tables are thoroughly cleaned and reset to Company specifications in an efficient and timely manner.

    -Performs duties discreetly and without causing any disturbances such as dropped silverware, spills, disrupting guests’ conversations, etc.

    -Maintains constant and professional communications with other Hosts so as to ensure accurate table statuses.

    -Notes special requests or accommodations to ensure guests have a positive dining experience.

    -Relays any guest requests to the Server; assists the Server as directed.

    -“Learns” each Server so as to best assist each individual while following standards of service and procedures.

    -Assists Host as time allows; seats guests, returns menus, etc.

    -Ensures restaurant is ready to open 5 minutes prior posted opening time.

    -Ensures restaurant remains open, and continues to seat guests, 5 minutes after posted closing time.

    -Adheres to all Company uniform and appearance standards.

    -Has, or obtains upon arrival, knowledge of Crater Lake National Park and all of its facilities and activities to ensure information passed to guests is informative and accurate.

    -Answers guest questions accurately and with positivity and professionalism.

    -Maintain cleanliness of all Front of House (FOH) areas including sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, arranging furniture, bussing, removing trash, removing recycling, and any other cleaning duties as assigned.

    -Immediately notifies a manager upon learning of a food allergy. Never singularly handles any food allergy situation to ensure guest safety.

    -Adheres to all food safety and sanitation requirements including, but not limited to, using a closed drink container, refraining from eating in the kitchen, keeping hair that is longer than collar length properly restrained, and maintaining a clean uniform.

    -Practices frequent and proper handwashing.

    -Practices good personal grooming and personal hygiene.

    -Communicates with FOH staff, BOH staff, other coworkers, guests, and managers in positive and professional manner at all times.

    -Involves FOH manager on duty in any guest issues as appropriate and in a timely manner so as to reach a resolution before the guest leaves Crater Lake.

    -Removes dishes, utensils, napkins, and glassware from tables and delivers to kitchen for cleaning in a timely manner. Pre-busses as able to decrease clutter and reduce potential for breakage.

    -Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked work area, including BOH areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, picking up litter, etc. Restocks as directed and as needed.

    -Completes all assigned or unassigned side work prior to clocking out.

    -Checks out with FOH manager on duty prior to clocking out.

    -Communicates any supply needs to management in a timely manner.

    -Assists both FOH and BOH coworkers during any downtime.

    -Follows all procedures as they pertain to groups and tours.

    -Answers phones in specific timeframe; follow guidelines and uses correct greetings and etiquette.

    -Takes, records, and relays messages accurately, thoroughly, and legibly.

    -Follows all procedures as trained for “to-go” orders. Sees orders through to completion.

    -Maintains working knowledge of emergency fire evacuation and safety procedures.

    -Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies, services, and reservations for rooms, tour/transportation needs and outside activities.

    -Follows all PCI compliance guidelines and policies. Protects guest confidentiality at all times, including any information that may be used to access guest internet.

    -Performs all duties with consideration of the Company’s environmental commitment, especially as it pertains to natural resources, recycling, and food waste.

    -Performs all duties with respect to the Company’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and guest service standards.

    -Cooperates with Warehouse staff in keeping the Waste Management area clean.

    -Performs all duties in a safety conscious manner. Maintains a safe workplace. Reports all safety issues or potentially hazardous situations to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.

    -Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments, with positivity and professionalism.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None.




    Qualifications, Experience, Physical Demands:

    -Prior experience in seasonal hospitality, especially National Park(s) highly preferred.

    -Prior experience as Host and / or Server Assistant highly preferred.

    -Working knowledge and experience relevant to Front of House steps of service and procedures.

    -Ability to remain positive, enthusiastic, and upbeat, especially at peak business times and during times of stress required. Must be a “people person”.

    -Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in a diverse environment.

    -Knowledge of Crater Lake National Park highly preferred.

    -Ability to work productively and reliably while unsupervised required.

    -Demonstrated ability to work in an organized, detail-oriented, accurate, efficient, and personable manner at all times.

    -Ability to remain flexible and teamwork-oriented.

    -Physically able to: walk throughout entire shift, repeatedly climb and descend stairs throughout workday, perform all duties while only getting only those breaks as required by Oregon state law, lift up to 25 pounds, repeatedly bend/stretch/reach/lift as required throughout the workday, work with required chemicals, carry trays of beverages and/or food with one hand, work under normal kitchen conditions including heat, steam, grease, noise, coolers, freezers, wet floors, etc.
