Overview

Provide leadership and direction for all front-of-house operations for the Oasis at Death Valley Inn Dining Room, Lobby Bar, Room Service, Pool Bar, Banquet and Group functions. Provide support and assistance for back-of-house operations working directly with the Inn Chef. Responsible for ensuring quality customer service, positive employee relations, and the coordination of all F&B operations at the Inn.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure every guest is provided with high-quality AAA 4 Diamond dining experience.
  • Provide excellent guest relations and resolve guest related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and facilitate F&B operations to provide quality service and product for our guests.
  • Responsible for preparing weekly FOH schedules and posting in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for payroll tracking and cost control.
  • Responsible for Food & Beverage inventories to include silverware, china and glassware.
  • Management functions include, but not limited to: employee relations, conflict resolution, skills training, staff meetings, safety training and overseeing the reservation book.
  • Attend and participate in weekly F&B management meetings.
  • Work with and support the Sales team in coordinating and managing all Inn banquet and group functions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees are aware of Xanterra's Sustainability program "Our Softer Footprint" company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) and their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance to the policy.
  • Responsible for additional management and/or related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Two years management experience in a fine dining operation.
  • Superior guest and employee relations experience.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills demonstrated in a fine dining customer-oriented environment.
  • Strong computer skills, ability to learn various software programs, i.e. Micros Simphony, Kronos, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work within flexible work schedule, as schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Strong knowledge in food and beverage products such as wine, beer, spirits, fine dining service, food safety, liquor laws and bartending.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to accomplish goals and projects.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

  • Physical abilities to include: lifting, carrrying, bending, walking, standing, stooping and turning.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
