We are actively seeking candidates for our Summer 2018 Team who are looking to take a break from the daily grind and step into the peaceful environment of one of the world's oldest national parks.


Our operation features 2 separate areas within the Park - Rim Village and Mazama Village. We have 3 dining facilities, 3 retail outlets, a campground, cabins, and lodge. We also offer daily boat tours for our guests.


Southern Oregon offers diverse recreational opportunities for your days off - we have deserts, rainforests, mountains, marshes, and the Pacific Ocean is only a few hours away. Of course, the gem of the entire region is Crater Lake!


Summary: The Campground Attendant works effectively and efficiently with little to no supervision to ensure all campsites and public areas (including waste and recycling receptacles, restrooms, and showers) of the 215-site Mazama Village Campground are clean. Facilitates site registration processes between Campground and Front Desk staff. Please note that this is not a campground "host" position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Performs all duties with ultimate goal of providing exemplary guest service.

-Assists with seasonal opening procedures at the beginning of the season, including assisting with snow removal.

-Participates in all required training.

-Assists with seasonal closing procedures for winterization of campground, buildings, and rooms.

-Cleans restrooms and showers as trained; including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing all amenities such as toilets, showers, floors, windows, walls, etc.

-Uses all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

-Monitors levels and restocks supplies such as toilet paper, paper towel, soap, etc.

-Replaces lightbulbs and shower curtains as necessary.

-Cleans campground and campsites to keep them free from litter and waste, including fire pits.

-Follows Company guidelines for guest service; greets all guests with a smile.

-Maintains positive and professional communications with coworkers and managers at all times.

-Safely operates golf cart or other vehicle in order to efficiently monitor available/occupied campsites.

-Accurately monitors available/occupied campsites and communicates status to Front Desk staff in a positive and professional manner.

-Maintains positive and professional communications with Front Desk staff to ensure excellent guest service at all times.

-Assists with traffic control, guest communications, and site registration process. Ensures that all cash handling is done through the Front Desk staff; never collects money from guests.

-Has, or obtains upon arrival, knowledge of Crater Lake National Park and all of its facilities and activities to ensure information passed to guests is informative and accurate.

-Assists guests as able with any requests or inquiries.

-Uses proper etiquette and language when communicating with others whether it be face-to-face, via phone, or via radio.

-Follows NPS lost and found procedures at all times.

-Performs individually assigned duties with awareness of the entire Mazama Village team.

-Performs deep cleaning or other tasks as assigned which may include: washing walls, woodwork and windows; scrubbing grout; etc.

-Checks entire work area to ensure everything is in working order and in good repair, including: trash/recycling receptacles, fire pits, lamps, fans, lights, faucets, toilet(s), showers, furniture, flooring, switches, etc. Reports any issues or maintenance needs to Location Manager in a timely manner.

-Immediately communicates any guest complaints to management so that they can be resolved in a timely manner.

-Immediately reports any evidence of illegal activity or violation of policy directly to management.

-Maintains clean and tidy workspaces, including carts and vehicles.

-Communicates any supply needs to management in a timely manner.

-Performs all duties with consideration of the Company’s environmental commitment. Considers natural resource consumption, especially as it pertains to water and electricity.

-Cooperates with Warehouse staff in keeping the Waste Management area clean.

-Follows all specialized clean-up procedures (biohazard, Hantavirus, pest).

-Uses appropriate chemicals and tools for the job.

-Acts as second set of eyes and ears for the safety of location and guests.

-Adheres to Company policies and federal traffic laws when operating any vehicle.

-Performs all duties in a safety conscious manner. Maintains a safe workplace. Reports all safety issues or potentially hazardous situations to the appropriate manager in a timely manner.

-Adheres to all Company uniform and appearance standards.

-Performs other duties as assigned with positivity and professionalism.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.


Qualifications, Experience, Physical Demands:

-Prior experience in seasonal hospitality, especially National Park(s), highly preferred.

-Prior experience in Campgrounds, Groundskeeping, Custodial, and/or Housekeeping highly preferred.

-Ability to work effectively and efficiently while unsupervised required.

-Strong organizational skills and attention to finite details required.

-Valid U.S. driver’s license required.

-CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

-Physically able to: repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds; repeatedly twist/bend/reach throughout shift; safely operate golf cart; stand/walk steadily throughout shift; repeatedly kneel or lay flat on the floor as required to clean restrooms and showers; work a full shift getting only those breaks as required by Oregon state law; perform all duties in inclement weather or intense sunshine; perform all duties outdoors, including during mosquito season; use provided chemicals; work in dusty/dirty environment.
