This position will work Front Desk the majority of the time, but will also be trained to fill in on Night Audit shifts as needed. Night Audit shifts will generally be limited to vacations and/or last minute call offs of permanent auditors.


Front Desk Agents establish and provide excellent guest service, registering and greeting guests at point of check-in and throughout their stay, while processing payments and posting charges to guest accounts.


This will be a part-time, year-round position. MUST be available weekends & holidays.


Starting rate = $11.05/hr to start; $11.30/hr after 90 days. Night Audit pay is $12.35/hour.


Front Desk Functions:

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Follow all policy, procedures and service standards.
  • Register guests while receiving and posting proper payment and finalizing guest accounts at checkout.
  • Assign guest rooms or cabins, issue keys ensuring guest security at all times and in accordance with Xanterra established guidelines.
  • Make, confirm, assist, and cancel reservations, including promoting and selling location activities.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all location facilities, locations, room types, hours of operations, and activities, in an effort to answer questions and give out accurate and helpful information to guests.
  • Answer telephones in the specified time frames following proper guidelines, and using correct greetings and telephone etiquette.
  • Take, record, and relay messages accurately, completely, timely, thoroughly, and legibly.
  • Document all guest problems and/or complaints using correct forms and procedures, and resolve issues to guest satisfaction at all times.
  • To conscientiously handle Lost and Found items following guidelines established by Xanterra.
  • To educate guests on Xanterra environmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct use of company equipment while keeping work space neat and organized.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Front Desk policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Accurately follow cash handling procedures and secure bank at all times.
  • Post charges to guest accounts for services and purchases.
  • Balance all receipts and postings for work performed during shift at the end of shift

Night Audit Functions:


In addition to performing the above Front Desk Functions from 11pm - 7am, also performs nightly accounting duties to include: 

  • Provides accurate and timely summaries of daily revenues and expenses from entire location.
  • Assists in ensuring strict adherence to all accounting policies and procedure by all departments performing accounting duties.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of information obtained in the accounting office.
  • Responds to fire alarms, knowing correct procedures for emergency situations at location.
  • Audits Rooms, Food & Beverage, Retail and Sports Revenues.
  • Balances all charges back to computer generated totals and investigate any discrepancies and corrects.
  • Assists in the preparation of the spread sheets on computer or manually for management.
  • Walks to the different outlets to run register reports.
  • Acknowledge and assist members, guests and employees in a professional and courteous manner.


  • Previous customer service skills with cash handling experience required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to give direction.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Business telephone etiquette a must.
  • Sales skills.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience with spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel) 
  • Human relation skills - must be a people-person who thrives on public contact.
  • General knowledge of office equipment such as fax, printers, scanners, etc. a plus.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and move through them in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to interact with diverse people and strong problem solving skills with the ability to take care of issues.
  • Ability to work quickly and thoroughly under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Standing for up to eight hours per shift.
  • Requires bending, stretching and reaching throughout a shift up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays.
