Overview

Direct all aspects of The Oasis at Death Valley Inn & Ranch Rooms Department.

The four diamond Inn at Death Valley and the Ranch at Death Valley is seeking a dynamic leader for the Rooms Division Department. The ideal leader has proven experience in Front office, Bell service, Concierge and Housekeeping, ready to take the next step. They direct and control the activities of the Front Desk, Reservations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Guest Relations and Guest Services. The position reports to the Director of Operations and supervises six managers. We are looking for individuals who have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, are able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation, and have a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service. A minimum of three-five years of experience in hotel or resort setting is preferred along with a college Degree, however, not essential with relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years Rooms Management experience in a 300 room or higher, high-occupancy lodging operation.
  • Possess financial skills necessary to plan, budget and control the annual financial plan.
  • Prior experience as a revenue or reservation manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with guests, clients and employees.
  • Previous experience with front desk operating systems, telecommunication systems, and inventory ordering systems.
  • Experience with Opera, Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to assist Executive Director of Operations, Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager with development and implementation of strategies that will result in increased occupancy and rate.
  • Experience in comparative study models.
  • Knowledge of other aspects of a full-service hotel/resort operation.
  • Possess valid California Driver’s License and comply with the Oasis at Death Valley Resort’s Company Vehicle Policy.
  • Ability to adapt to living and working in an isolated and remote environment.

Physical Demands:

 

  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
